In my opinion, MLK was shrewd.  He kept his "eye on the prize" as he encouraged his followers to do.  He did a fair amount of arm twisting to further his cause, but I don't think he was in it for the money.  His eye was on his legacy.  Whereas, the others it is all about money and powe and instilling fear in white people and the politician about what they might do.  Everyone should really read MLKs writings, as well as listen to his speeches.  He knew what he was doing.  

Thomas Sowell has a lot of interesting observations and remarks.  He definitely worth a read.

The problem today is that most of what passes for black leadership isn't very smart.  They can't see past the immediate and how they can montetize it.  That is what reparations are about.
