Ok, everything worked fine until a friend unplugged the motor for storage (I never did because of battery switch). Next time out, nothing going with the trolling motor. So, a couple of weekends back, spent some time trying to troubleshoot the issue.
Took the leads on the plug loose and attached to a battery charger...motor turned. Reconnected, traced wires back to the battery. Connected the charger to the hot, trolling motor turned. Reconnected the wires to the battery, nothing. I replaced the reset switch on the hot side, reconnected, no dice. There are three batteries under the console, and it doesn't work on any of them...but these batteries run all other accessories with no issue.
So, I have, in theory, eliminated the motor, fuse, plug, reset box, and wires. Or, have I? Just thought I would bounce this off of anyone here that may have a theory.

The batteries should be connected serial, you might have a bad battery when under heavy load. May want to try a different battery in each position until it works. Or buy a paddle and a shipload of beer...

That is a thought...the only thing that perplexes me, is that it worked fine until my friend unplugged it and it sat for a while....

The lightsmay work on each battery but all 3 must be connected properly as Summer says to get 36 volts. Batteries could be weak from no charge over winter. Buy a hydrometer for around $5 and check each battery. Assume no corrosion on all connections. I had my batteries checked and while they showed fully charged they had reduced Cold Cranking Amps and need to be replaced.

Ok, good ideas. I'll pull the batteries and test them.

Well, seems y'all were right. Seems my battery tender isn't working like it should, and all three batteries were about as charged as door nails. Replaced them and all is well....now to shuffle up the money for another 3 bank...
