Trump's trial about damages will start Monday as he was recently found guilty as I predicted in May 2021. One has to laugh at the comments from Forum "experts" that were posted defending Trump in 2021. It was a perfect example of the blind leading the blind.

$18-30 million on a property that would sell for over a billion.  But goofy that's a great prediction!  I predict this judge is overruled on appeal with a few choice words from the appeals court.

do people in Florida set their own property assessment?  Elmore County sets mine and I even have to file for homestead exemption every year!

You just don't understand Carlson.  Trump defrauded the banks, who let him just make up values for his properties, by taking loans on those properties at the inflated value.  But the real fraud was when he repayed every one of the loans, with interest.  I mean to quote Greta, how dare him.  /sarcasm OFF

Funny, currently helping my daughter get started building a house.  bank appraised the property ( again ), bank appraised the plans for the house, bank came up with own numbers all on their own.  Bank did not go with the numbers from the tax office who tells me what they think its worth to send the tax bill yearly.   Numbers do not match between the bank and the tax office - so which one of them is commiting fraud?

No one ever asked me what we thought it was worth in figuring out anything, they told us what they think it is worth in setting the amount they are willing for the construction loan and how much taxes to stick on it every year.

Neither one is committing fraud. They can back up their value based on their method of valuating. Quite different than the way Trump valued his property. As an example, he valued his apartment that is 11,000 sq feet by stating it is 30,000 sq feet.

And I value my property based on how often I cut my grass - that does not cause the bank to give me better rates on my mortgage.

Interesting that the judge, according to some reports, tossed a majority of the case yesterday based on statute of limitations over 9 years old.  Wonder why that was not tossed well before this trial started?  An unbiased judge would had already tossed it and sanctioned the DA.

Not to mention if it is a crime to overvalue something, can Trump sue the judge for undervaluing his Florida home?  18M is laughable for that property.  And why would a judge in NY have anything to do with property values in Florida?!?  Seems like that is out of his jurisdiction for starters.
