Not that it will matter in this case as the fix is in but this will be the key to Trump's almost certainly successful appeal. While we already know this is a political persecution using lawfare because there is no victim (i.e., all loans were paid back and the banks made millions of profit), we now know with certainty that the claim of fraud is false, and that is central to the case.
As the bank exec (who was involved in the loans and their approval) testified, it is common for them to independently evaluate and discount net worth valuations and that the delta is a "difference of opinion" and not fraud. It happens all the time, particularly with high net worth borrowers that have real estate assets.
He also indicated that while approving loans like this is atypical it was also not entirely unusual. Seems a bit confusing until you understand that borrowers like Trump can get loans that ordinary schmucks like us cannot. Life ain't fair but that is not even remotely fraud. And their underwriting process worked like a charm because Trump paid the loans and the banks made millions in profit.
Like I said, none of this will matter to the nutjob judge or the prosecutor because if evidence, the law and truth were part of their process they would have never brought this case in the first place. But it will matter bigly when this goes to appeal.

That is how you know that this trial is political revenge and a DA who has political aspirations - none of banks Trump got loans from were complaining or bringing suit against him, so who has been harmed? That's the whole thing with Democrats - they never seem to understand finance ( or economics) so they end up looking stupid.
Those that support Trump are not going to be moved by his "conviction" in this trial.

Their strategy is two fold. One, to make it more likely that Trump is nominated as a reaction to and rejection of lawfare by Democrats. Two, make it harder for Trump to win the general with all these indictments and likely convictions before the general. I have to hand it to them for their deviousness.
Whether it will work is anyone's guess, but my concern about another four years of Biden or whoever they put in his place is one of many reasons I will once again not vote for Trump in the primary. But if he is the nominee he will have my support because I know how awful the alternative is.

As a retired bank exec, id say 99% of loan applicants --residential, business, commercial, overvalue their assets on loan applications--which is why lenders do their own due diligence & base loans on the 'lesser of sales ot appraised' value, & credit worthiness;

Exactly.....as the bank exec said, the difference between their estimate and Trump's was one of opinion. That's why bank do underwriting, not just to prevent fraud but also to evaluate the financial merits of the loan. Having that difference of opinion on asset values is hardly fraud.....especially when the loans were repaid. The only fraud here is the DA and judge involved in this political persecution.
